Used Too Often

The following phrases really get on my nerves and are overused by baseball people in general and Diamondbacks TV announcers in particular:
  • grinding
  • the way he goes about his business
  • a guy like INSERT PLAYER NAME
  • ...if you're INSERT PLAYER NAME...
  • ...if you're a INSERT TEAM NAME fan...
  • lights out
  • years young
  • you gotta tip your cap
  • at this level
  • every single day

And weather announcers should never say "gorgeous".
