(Keep in mind that I have no use for any of these people...)So Bob Dole sends a letter to Rush Limbaugh asking him to calm down with his bashing of John McCain. Mitt Romney is asked by Fox News what he thought of that and he responded that Dole is “probably the last person I would have wanted to have write a letter for me.” Nowhere in this discussion was there any mention of Dole having been in the army in WWII and having been wounded.
McCain said this: "He’s a great American, and for Governor Romney, who has never had any military experience, to disparage the service and courage of an American hero, I think is disgraceful.”
So, if you have not been in the military, you have no right to ever criticize someone who has been in the military, even if the subject has nothing to do with the military. What an idiot.
John McCain has never stopped fighting the VietNam War. According to Pat Buchanan:
We are forewarned. John McCain intends to be a war president.
Where Bush has lately cleansed his administration of neocons, McCain offers the last best hope for a neocon return and restoration and more wars in the Middle East. And if, as seems probable, Bibi Netanyahu again becomes prime minister of Israel, he and a President McCain will find a pretext for war on Iran.

I think Pat Buchanan is simply wrong. McCain is a warmonger, but not a neocon. A neocon believes that it is our duty to bring about our liberal capitalist ideology to the world through brute force if necessary. I think McCain will never do this because he is smart enough to know that our military can't win 37 wars at once. However, the man would never surrender, because as Buchanan said, he's never left Vietnam.
He is not an isolationist Republican by any means. He seems to be forging a third way. I truly believe that he doesn't quite fit either (don't let anyone hear me painting him in any "maverick" tones).
I would describe McCain as a militaristic neoliberal, but not as one believes in PREEMPTIVE war.
However, this may be a merely semantic distinction in McCain's case. It could mean that he merely needs provocation, even if it is largely superficial or artificial.
I truly think that the age of American neoconservatism ends, thank the Good Lord, with GWB. It may come back (maybe very soon), but an offense-minded warmonger, I think McCain is not.
In the end though, I guess I agree: Topple the warmonger before he starts. He's a dangerous man. He's already duped the Democrats with his hilariously laughable immigration bill (why, Ted Kennedy/Obama/Hillary, why?); I'm afraid of what he'll be able to fenagle next.
Just in case Obama's a dud, I'm studyin' up on the Polish.
